HomeKit is driving me crazy with no response on all devices!

I have Starlink as my ISP. I’m running an Apple TV 4K hardwired as my HomeKit hub. I’m running around 20 homekit compatible devices that are a variety of Meross, VocoLinc, and Aqara. Everything has ram fine for a few years now. I get the occasional hiccup but I can get them corrected easily usually. About a month ago though I started getting no response on every device. I can get them back online by turning the device on or off manually. It goes right back to no response a few hours later though.

I’ve tried multiple reboots of the Starlink router, the Apple TV and I’ve rebooted every device at some point. I get all back up and running only for it to all drop again before the day ends. My wife’s phone doesn’t even see our home anymore. Ive tried to add it multiple times with no luck. All firmware is up to date. What am I missing here? This is driving me nuts!

Hey there MikeStrahl,

When you mention that all firmware is up-to-date, do you mean all devices involved (including your HomeKit devices)?

Also, you'll want to ensure that your iOS device you use to view the Home app has Bluetooth enabled, as having that disabled may cause issues within the Home app or HomeKit.

You could also test deleting one accessory and then adding it back into the Home app. This may help reset the device and stop this issue where you keep encountering "No Response" in the Home app.

You can do that by following the steps below on an iOS device (running iOS 16):

  1. Open the Home app
  2. Press and hold on an accessory
  3. Tap Accessory Details
  4. Tap the gear in the lower right-hand corner
  5. Scroll down and choose Remove Accessory

If needed, the steps below show how to add that back:

"Add an accessory to Home

Before you add an accessory such as a light or camera, be sure that it’s connected to a power source, is turned on, and has network connectivity.

  1. Tap Home at the bottom left, then tap Add Accessory. You can also tap the Add button at the top of the screen, then choose Add Accessory.
  2. Follow the onscreen instructions."

Those steps are from this article: Set up accessories with Home on iPhone - Apple Support

Please let us know if you've tried those steps already or if those helped.

Take care!
