Markup icon missing from Freeform on Mac, but present and functions on iPhone

I just tried out Freeform on my MacBook Air with Ventura 13.1 and it works fine, but it is lacking the Markup icon and Markup functionality. However, on my iPhone 14 standard, the Markup icon is present and this feature works fine. I've checked out all the choices on all the pull-down windows. To be clear, I can draw with crayons on my iPhone but on my Mac I cannot draw. On my Mac I can only insert shapes, lines, arrows, sticky notes, etc., but there is NO drawing tool.

Note: I DO NOT want to turn on 2-factor authorization, which I suspect might be required to make Markup work on my Mac.

Markup tools need to be on the mac version. I use a drawing tablet and would love access to draw my notes. It's just like a notes app otherwise and not "freeform"

Thank you! I just realized, after I restarted both my phone and my computer and my 2 sample Freeform pages finally showed up on both devices, that if I, for example, wanted to use the crayon tool but do most of the work on my Mac, I could do it on the Freeform page on my iPhone, and then go back to the same page in Freeform on my Mac, and the crayon drawing would be there as well, because I have them syncing in the Cloud.
