Can I connect my HDD to Apple tv 4K ?

I had a collection of High-Quality movie files (about 10 to 20GB and more ) on my HDD and I like to switch to Apple TV 4K

can I access them on Apple tv 4k?

Can we store movies on Apple TV 4k? With a 12-hr power outage due to storms it is nice to have a battery backup so you can run your tv's. I figured since I can't watch the spectrum TV app or Netflix when the internet is down, I should at least be able to watch the Library content I have purchased. All I can find online is how to download content to your iPhone or Mac's. But not the apple TV device. I just want to be able to have access to the movies I have purchased on my Apple TV 4k device whenever the internet is down.

Playing 4K Apple TV movies on iMac I'm trying to play my films purchased through apple TV app in 4k. But it's saying it's only 1080. Why won't they playback at 4k ?or even give me the option. My settings are set to 'up to 4k' and the films purchased are in 4k. Seems ridiculous a 4k tagged film purchased though the apple store in the apple TV on an apple imac won't playback in 4k!
