My pin drop location name

When I send my location via MAPS on my iPhone 10se with a pin drop, it doesn’t show my name. It says “Ben’s” location.

(???)

Hello mcclaine254,

Typically, when you share your location using a dropped pin via Maps, the location will show in Messages as "Dropped Pin."

This is detailed in the guide: Mark places in Maps on iPhone – Apple Support

If you are using a different method, let us know so we can assist further.

You can also use the steps in this resource to share your location: Share your location in Find My on iPhone – Apple Support

  1. "Tap the Add button, then choose Share My Location.

The Find My screen open to the People list. There are four people in the list: Ashley Rico, Olivia Rico, Dawn Ramirez, and Will Rico. Tap the Add button at the top of the People list to share your location.

2. In the To field, type the name of a friend you want to share your location with (or tap the Add Contact button and select a contact).

3. Tap Send and choose how long you want to share your location.

You can also notify a friend or family member when your location changes.

If you’re a member of a Family Sharing group, see Share your location with family members."

This method should share your name as it appears in your contact card.

Cheers!
