Weather forecast in ios 16 is very inaccurate

Has anyone noticed how inaccurate has apple weather forecast became after updating to ios 16? Its not a little, there is a huge difference between actual current weather conditions and what is shown in the apple native weather app. For example, there is a rain outside for a WHOLE day, but the apple weather shows Sunny for same whole day, not even clouds. So this is very inaccurate and this is only like that in ios 16, since apple have changed weather supplier from The weather channel to Apple weather. I have another iphone with ios 15 which still sources weather forecasts from The Weather Channel and it is VERY accurate.

Also, the widget has became just awful. I mean design, details, its now only shows current temperature and hourly weather condition (clouds, sun, etc) but they removed hourly temperature from this widget and not possible to select daily forecast.

I have been always using native apple weather app and widget just because it was so nice a pleasant interface plus extremely accurate forecast and current conditions. But now its just nightmare. I have to search for alternatives, just because apple ruined its own app.

To the heck with the forecast, it can't even get the current conditions correct. It's 24F outside, the forecast says snow for the next hour (starting now) but the "condition" displayed under the temp is "Drizzle" and the background is "raining". What the heck? This is NOT rocket science. So sad that Apple took a GREAT app and completely ruined it :(

(Oh sure, I can report this but really? C'mon Apple, there a gazillion other Weather apps out there that don't have these issues, why do are you relying on users to get the current conditions even CLOSE to reality?)

Hello Missy,

Thanks for the response. I do report inaccuracy as you described above, however, nothing changes. Today same issue. Heavy grey clouds on the sky, but Apple weather shows Sunny day.

In addition, it seems that current temperature conditions are not taken from the nearest to location (mine in this case) temperature sensors, as for example Foreca does, but instead it just shows what has been predicted a day before.

My complain is that there is a big difference in both weather forecast and current conditions between my 2 iphones running on ios 16 and ios 15. The one on ios 16 is completely inaccurate. I would say that percentage of accuracy is around 30%. So most of the time its not accurate. In comparison, iphone running on ios 15 has excellent weather accuracy in the same Apple weather app.

So to summarize, the problem is in your own source or prediction model that you started to use with ios 16. Please look into that.
