paramount plus local channel not working on apple tv

I have spent about eight hours on the phone with Paramount+ support and Apple support and Comcast support only to come up with the same exact scenario as described above. Apple tells me to call Paramount. Paramount tells me to call Comcast. Comcast tells me to call Apple. All my live tv channels worked before updating Apple TV. So what’s Up? Please tell me before this really goes sideways!

Apple and Paramount keep passing the buck on this issue. All that usajj is asking is to tell us what setting in APPLETV for our TV APP (NOT OUR MAC OR OUR IPHONE) controls the Paramount Plus setting regarding our local CBS Station. Our phones and our computers show us the local news. It's our APPLETV that thinks we live in another town. You are about to tell me that this is a Paramount Issue but Paramount says its an APPLETV issue. SIMPLE QUESTION: What must I do to have my Television APPLETV App tell Paramount where I live so that Paramount Plus will broadcast the local news rather than the news from some other town?

Just fixed this....

1. Turn off IPv6 on your modem (you may need to look up how to your access your modem model).
2. Then go restart your Apple TV(System - restart) and open up Paramount+.

It worked for me, took just a few minutes. I previously tried the Location Services mentioned attempts, none of them worked. I finally found this fix mentioned online, maybe in another thread. Posting here since this is the top thread in Google results.

under Settings -> Privacy -> location services, Paramount + used to be listed. With the most recent version, this was removed for some reason, not allowing Apple TV users the ability to stream their local stations even if they pay for it.

This has been my workaround but still…. If I’m paying for paramount and they offer an Apple TV app then it should work identically across platforms.

If location services are enabled, and all other apps are working properly, then this would likely be an issue with Paramount+ itself. From the great troubleshooting you've already performed, it would appear that everything is working as expected on the Apple TV. I have had some success, try downloading the CBS network app. Only caveat is you need to sign in with a TV subscription.. but since I have Xfinity Internet, that login works for me. I am now watching live CBS Saturday Morning just how I used to through the Paramount app but now through the CBS network app….

Same issue here, and I’ve done much of the same other than a hard reset on the AppleTV. We have multiple AppleTVs and all of them are showing the wrong local station. Meanwhile iPads, Desktops and Phones all show the right localCBS.

I checked under settings and it initially had our location, but when I deleted and reinstalled the Paramount+ app, it now says Location Not Enabled.

In addition under Settings >> General >> Location Services the Paramount+ app is no longer listed.

My guess is there’s a corrupt preference file somewhere that keeps on messing up the preferences. Of course for those that deleted and reinstalled the entire AppleTV that should take care of it unless they are restoring from a backup version. I don’t want to erase everything and start from scratch, but maybe those of you who are willing could give this one a try (i.e. not restore from backup and start fresh and see what happens).

The only other thing I haven’t tried is deleting all the user profiles in Paramount+ and restarting and creating new ones.

Yes. I discovered the same thing. How weird. Thankfully all we watch on the local feed is the news, which we can get over antenna, or via the channel’s News app. But the whole point was so I wouldn’t have to do that…

Same exact issue here. I’ve tried every step you tried with no luck. No help from paramount side as there CS is non-existent.

I tried this work around for our tv but with no luck. We are still getting out of state local channels. Anyone getting anywhere with this problem?
