When did Siri forget how to tell me about moon phases?

Is there something specific to my device that's preventing Siri from telling me when the next full moon is, or did Apple remove that feature for everyone? Maybe I accidentally disabled location services for Siri with iOS 16 or something?

I ask Siri when the next full moon is with at least some regularity, but today instead of getting a date and time in reply, Siri just coughed up generic web results for "when is the full moon". I got the same thing on my Watch and Mac, which was surprising given that Siri usually gets better rather than worse, especially since this is a useful accessibility feature.

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 16

Hi Marc Marshall,

Seems you are not alone in this new behaviour from Siri. On my Mac, am also getting web-search results displayed, even if asking just for the date of the next full moon in my city, my country. (Have checked that Siri is set up to give spoken replies.)

With the advantage of a quick glance at a calendar, noticed the next full moon in my country is 7th January.

Thinking it may be best to send feedback to Apple, on what the change to displaying web-results means to you.

They will likely not reply, but we may see changes that could benefit many in a future update.
