chroma audio issues with Samsung TV, strange problem
I can't figure this out. I have two HDMI inputs into a Samsung Q95T: Apple TV 4K 2022 (16.1), and Verizon FIOS. The HDMI cable linking the apple TV is the Belkin cable I purchased from an Apple store.
When I set the Apple to Chroma to 4:2:2, it works perfectly. If I then switch to watching live TV by changing the input setting on the TV (no changes to the Apple TV) to FIOS, when I return to the Apple TV, there is no audio output.
Through trial and error, I discovered that if I switch back to Chroma 4:2:0 on apple, the audio then works perfectly. if I switch back back and forth the audio will not work on 4:2:2, only on 4:2:0. If I put apple TV to sleep, no help, but resetting it to factory works. If I leave it alone, it works in the morning at 4:2:2
The audio from the Fios is never affected, the bluetooth audio output from apple tv is unaffected. (I have an optical audio output from Samsung to Sonos speaker, which also works perfectly).
I just can't figure out how changing a setting on the TV disables Apple Audio, maybe someone has a similar problem.
