Shortcut to finder sidebar - locations

When installing Dropbox the installer creates a shortcut to the Dropbox folder which is now in ~/library/cloudstorage rather than in its original position on the hard drive. I imagine this is done for security reasons and Apple's desire to move all external cloud services to "cloudstorage'.

It then places this shortcut in the 'locations' section of the Finder sidebar. If you move it from here to favourites it simply vanishes which is what happened to me. I'm now trying to recreate it and have tried reinstalling Dropbox, aliases, symlinks etc but nothing works, so it must be something unique to Apple.

It also appears impossible - at least for the user - to remove the Dropbox folder from its new location - again I imagine for security considerations. Whether you can do this using sudo and cli I don't know since I don't have the knowledge.

QUESTIONS: Is there any way of creating a shortcut from a folder in ~/library/cloudstorage which I can then place in locations. Can I remove the Dropbox folder using cli?
