why can't I see my locked notes on my Macbook Pro's Notes App?

I was always able to see my locked notes on my iPhone's Notes App and on my Macbook Pro's Notes App. But roughly a week ago, I got a error message pushed to my iPhone's Notes App saying something about the "lock" functionality on the Notes App, and starting then I can't see my locked Notes on my Macbook Pro.

One way to get around this is to remove the lock on my notes. Then it will start show up on my Macbook Pro. But can't there be a way to see locked notes on Macbook Pro just like before? I just want to get back to what it was like before...

Hi ronepin,

If they're not showing up on your Mac at all, it may be possible that they're linked to an account on your iPhone that isn't currently available on your Mac: Use your internet accounts on Mac - Apple Support

There's also the possibility of your Mac not using upgraded iCloud notes, though that is less likely unless you reinstalled an older version of macOS on your Mac.

If either of those do not explain what's happening, are you able to create a new locked note on the Mac and have it show up on the iPhone? What about creating a new locked note on the iPhone and it showing up on the Mac? We'd like to determine if it's isolated to only current notes, or new ones as well.
