three finger tap lookup not working

We understand that tap with three fingers isn't working on your Mac, correct?

Have you customized your Trackpad settings to tap with three fingers? We ask because it's default setting would be to Force Click with one finger. This article explains in detail: MacBook Air trackpad - Apple Support (MN)

"Tip: If you find your force clicking when you don’t intend to, try adjusting the click pressure to a firmer setting in Trackpad Settings. Or change the “Look up & data detectors” option from the “Force Click with one finger” default setting to “Tap with three fingers.”"

To isolate the issue a bit, please restart your Mac in safe mode and test the 3-finger tap. Depending on which type of Mac you’re using, follow the steps under "Apple silicon” or "Intel processor": How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

We also want you to be aware that restarting in safe mode may take a bit longer than usual since it prevents some software from loading and does a check of your startup disk.

Once you’ve restarted in safe mode, test the issue. Whether or not it happens while in safe mode, restart your Mac normally to exit.

If the issue didn’t happen while your Mac was in safe mode, test the issue again after a normal restart.
