iPAD Pro (2018) froze during OS Update

I was updating my devices but my iPAD PRO 11" (A1980) froze and I can't get it to recover. I've used the 3 button reset procedure, but it returns to the white screen with 'Swipe to upgrade' at the bottom as the only option. I can't get it to Force Quit or restart. I tried hooking to my iMac to recover, but the iMac doesn't even recognize it as being attached so I can't reset or reboot from there. I was having absolutely no problem with the iPad before the attempted update.

Any advice on how to restore?

If your iPad is not recognised by your computer when connected, try using a different USB port. Otherwise, this support page may help with troubleshooting:
