iPad Mini Loses Bluetooth Audio

New iPad mini connects to my Bose Bluetooth headset just fine but may lose audio when changing apps or sometimes will not provide audio to headset even though it is connected via Bluetooth. Turning iPad completely off then on will usually solve the problem but the audio may then drop out a bit later. Only drops out when changing apps. Bluetooth connection is not dropped when the audio drops.

iPad: iPad mini 6th generation, Model #: MK893LL/A, Software Version: 15.5

Headphones: Bose QC35 II

I do not see this problem at all when using the Bose headphones with my MacBook pro.

I did not have this problem when using my old iPad mini.

Hey there MrBillR,

Is your headset connected/paired to another device when the audio drops? If so, try removing the connection on those devices to check if there's any interference with your iPad and headset.

If the issue persists, try unpairing your headset and pair again to help if this is related to your connection. Use these steps to unpair:

To unpair a Bluetooth accessory, go to Settings > Bluetooth, find the device you want to unpair, and tap the More Info button , then Forget this Device. This removes the accessory from the list of available Bluetooth devices.
To add the Bluetooth accessory to your device again, place it back in discovery mode and repeat the steps to pair your device.

Pair a third-party Bluetooth accessory with your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Feel free to reply with more details if the audio continues to drop.

Take care!
