EPS thumbnail preview not working

M1 Pro MacBook runnig OS 13.02 Ventura:

I've lost the ability to view thumbnail previews of EPS files in the Finder.

Does anyone know how to activate this setting again?

This is a huge oversight on Apple's part. Designers the world over use EPS files.

I had the same issue. I found iPreview in the App Store. It cost $2.99 but worth it. The preview shows up now in the finder in Ventura. It does what I needed. It doesn't create a custom icon, but whatever, at least I can see the preview in column browser mode which I use pretty much exclusively. I rarely use icon or list views.

Hello markhughes300,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We want to help get the most from your MacBook Pro and viewing EPS files.

You can check for apps in the App Store to help you view EPS files on your Mac, detailed here:

"View .ps and .eps files on Mac

Use an app that supports PostScript and Encapsulated PostScript files.

The Preview app included with your Mac supports PostScript (.ps) and Encapsulated PostScript (.eps) files in macOS Monterey or earlier. Starting with macOS Ventura, Preview no longer supports these files. Other apps that can view or convert .ps and .eps files are available from the App Store and elsewhere.

You can still print .ps and .eps files by dragging them into your printer queue. Here's how to do that in macOS Ventura or later:

  1. Choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Printers & Scanners in the sidebar.
  2. Click the the name of your printer on the right.
  3. Click the Printer Queue button to open the printer queue window.
  4. Drag the .ps or .eps file into the printer queue window."

We hope this helps resolve the issue by getting an app from the App Store to view your EPS files.

Cheers!
