How can I retrieve texts from a year ago

As mentioned in your other post on this, if they’re not on your device, and you did not make an archive of them, they are gone.
There is no archive of iMessages to access and carriers do not store SMS texts in their system (the volume of SMS is far too large for them to do that - 100’s of billions of texts per year).
After a full year since they were removed, there simply is nowhere to recover them from.
