Why does the screen time on my child’s phone keep resetting when updates happen? Each time I have to go through and reset the time limit on his apps. I would think this glitch would have been fixed by now since users have been reporting this problem for 2+ years now!

This definitely doesn't sound like expected behavior, but we're happy to help. Updating your iPhone shouldn't affect the Screen Time settings at all. Have you double checked that your Screen Time passcode is secure, to rule out anyone mistakenly changing settings for that feature? Here is how you can change that password, simply as an isolating step: If you forgot your Screen Time passcode - Apple Support. We know you didn't forget the password, but the info there should still be helpful.
If the issue continues to occur after changing that password, then it may be a good idea to disable Screen Time entirely and then re-enable it from scratch. This can help refresh settings and ensure that everything is set up in the best way possible.

This seemed to work for me: If you have an additional parent/ guardian in the Family account, remove the extra parent or guardian. After a few moments, you can add them back and make them a parent/ guardian again. Set the screen time settings and hopefully they will stay set. I experienced this since Oct and thought it was an update issue. Looks like it was my wife status in the Family account was some how resetting the screen time setting, every time she approved anything from screen time. Hope this helps.
