I no longer have the prompt accept/decline a FT call. The screen with my video comes up but when my friend calls me I have no way to answer her.

Using FaceTime, I can see the video of me when I click on FT but when my friend calls, the prompt I used to get, accept or decline the call no longer appears. Thus I can't connect with her on FaceTime.

Hi KareninaMinnesota,

To help us better assist you, can you let us know if this happens with all FaceTime calls, or only calls from a certain contact? Are you able to make FaceTime calls without an issue? Do you ever receive an error message when receiving a FaceTime call? If so, what does the error say?

The above details will help us plan how to proceed.

Please also check out the following link, which outlines the requirements to use FaceTime and options to accept or decline calls, and may be helpful: Answer calls in FaceTime on Mac

Answer calls in FaceTime on Mac

When you’re signed in and FaceTime is turned on, you can accept or decline calls, even if FaceTime isn’t open. See FaceTime requirements.

Please also be sure to review all of the information in the link you came, as it has some suggestions that can help resolve some FaceTime issues on Mac: If FaceTime isn't working on your Mac

Thanks!

Thanks for responding to my query. I only FT with one friend. She calls me. I have read the sites you suggested but thus far have not found a solution to my problem. I have not ever received an error message.

When I click on the FT icon my my icon board at the bottom of my screen, I get a video of me but no place to accept or decline my friend's call. Is it relevant that I can answer on my IPhone? Both my phone and MacBook ring at the same time. k

KareninaMinnesota,

We know you reviewed the troubleshooting we provided and none of the situations applied. Since noticing the issue, have you had a chance to quit the FaceTime app and restart your Mac? We know that often times we offer troubleshooting that is very specific to an issue, but in a situation like this, sometimes that restart just refreshses everything and resolves situations like this. If not, please do so and test.

If so, you had asked about the relevancy of answering the call on your iPhone. That can be relevant, on the chance, there is a Focus or something enabled that might be preventing answering. It would be more of a contact/account related isolation step. If you're able to connect via FaceTime on your iPhone, we know the situation is specific to your Mac.

Thanks.
