kextstat | grep -v com.apple; systemextensionsctl list

Executing: /usr/bin/kmutil showloaded

No variant specified, falling back to release

I unchecked all of the following in Desktop & Dock (this is was recommendation from a forum user on similar problem)

  • Automatically rearrange spaces based on most recent use
  • Displays have separate spaces
  • when switching to an application, switch to a space with open windows for the application
  • group windows by application

From the time I unchecked those, no crashes in last two days. But it is weird .. i have two apple external monitors and spaces show blank because of it.

Open Terminal and type the following command line in:

kextstat | grep -v com.apple; systemextensionsctl list

Does it list any kernel extensions or system extensions?

You can also install EtreCheck (free) run a scan and click the Share button and Copy then click the Additional Text button on a reply to this discussion and paste the report. It will help us see if there's something running in the background causing problems. Things like adware / malware, or old incompatible software.

Make sure both Cisco Secure Client and Microsoft Defender are up-to-date with the latest versions that support Ventura. Anything that uses extensions can cause all sorts of problems if they are not entirely compatible.

Check the privacy settings for those tools, they likely require Full Disk Access.

After updating any of those tools, be sure to restart the Mac. If you still have trouble, download EtreCheck which includes instructions on how to attach the EtreCheck scan in reply on Apple Discussion Community. i.e. there's an Additional Text button on the reply bottom toolbar that is meant to handle long form text too large to fit in the normal reply text box. The report doesn't reveal any personal data. It just shows hardware and software information and what's loading behind the scenes. We need to analyze the EtreCheck report as it may reveal potential problems beyond the extensions.

I have the same problem since upgrading to macOS 13.0.1 but have no extensions installed.

I am using a MacBook Pro 16" 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9 with 16GB RAM.

I started using an external 4K monitor (Dell U2723QE) at the same time and installed some Dell software so suspected that initially but this thread suggests it's probably something else.

Hope it gets fixed in 13.1 if it is indeed macOS at fault.
