WhatsApp Recording With AirPods

Hey all,

I bought a couple weeks ago IPhone 14 Pro and AirPods Pro 2.

While I’m playing music or watching videos with the AirPods and I want to record a voice message on WhatsApp the record turns out very bad with some static sound in the background and very low voice.

If I’m manually stopping the media before recording the voice message the records working just fine.

Is anyone noticed this as well?

If it’s something that happens more maybe we should tell this to apple support so they can work on it on the next update?

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. To get started, does this issue only occur when trying to record a voice message in WhatsApp? If unsure, try recording a voice message in the Messages app, or try recording a voice memo while you have audio playing.


Make a recording in Voice Memos on iPhone - Apple Support

Make a basic recording
1. To begin recording, tap the Record button.
To adjust the recording level, move the microphone closer to or farther from what you’re recording.
2. Tap the Stop button to finish recording.


Send and receive messages on iPhone - Apple Support

Audio recording is an iMessage app. In a Messages conversation, tap the Apps button to show the app icons below the text field, tap the Audio Recording button, then do one of the following:
- To record and review before sending: Tap the Record button to record, then tap it again to stop recording. Tap the Play button to review, then tap the Send button to send the recording or the Cancel button to cancel.
- To record a message and send it immediately: Hold the Record button.
