Bluetooth issues to Ford Sync

Hey. Anyone else unable to connect to Ford Sync since the last update to iOS 16? We have 3 iPhones in the house and not one of them recognises the Sync Bluetooth device however there is no problem connecting a Samsung! I have tried all the troubleshooting options. Bluetooth on and off, resetting network, updated the Sync etc etc.

Hey Friday_22,

We understand that you have completed additional troubleshooting and there’s no resolution. Apple released an iOS update today. We recommend using the steps here to update to the latest iOS version: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Update your iPhone or iPad wirelessly

  1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
  2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
  3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
  4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
  5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

If no issue resolution, we recommend contacting Ford.

Take care.

I believe this problem goes deeper than Bluetooth between Ford Sync and Apple. I recreated the same audio problem I had with Bluetooth on my Edge with Carplay. Now I'm not versed on how Apple and Ford Sync communicate with each other, but I think they have a fundamental problem that got introduced in IOS 16 which is when my problems started. Music plays, stops a while, plays a few seconds, and stops, but sometimes the whole song plays. The problem is totally re-creatable. I've done everything short of a master reset to try to fix it.

Hello Friday_22,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities.

You have tried some great troubleshooting steps so far. Since this is happening with multiple iPhones, that tells us it has been narrowed down to Ford Sync. We recommend reaching out to them to see if there is an update to the software that needs to be pushed to your vehicle.

Kindest regards.
