HomePod mini stops playing randomly or loops part of a song
We have three HomePod minis. One of them randomly stops playing when listening to Apple Music, normally a couple of seconds (~4s to ~15s ) into a song or at the end of a song (showing -0.00 seconds left). It doesn't show paused, and the icon is as if it should be playing, but nothing is happening.
It will also sometimes loop the first couple of seconds of a song, reminding of a scratched vinyl record. It tends to do this with certain specific tracks, and the same track will play fine a bit later on.
It's almost like there's a buffering issue which the HomePod can't recover from. With Apple Music in the car a partially loaded song would just skip. It's common when driving in areas with poor mobile coverage.
I can't see any obvious pattern to it either. We work online and would normally spot any dropouts to our Wi-Fi as we're often connected on Teams calls. When we've had dropouts the HomePod is typically fine, but this is not a common occurrence at all, and the issue is normally ISP or infrastructure rather than Wi-Fi related.
We don't have issues on any of our Apple TVs or the other HomePods. All the HomePods are running version 16.1, so the last available version at time of writing.
