How to turn off vibration for alarm on Apple Watch

How can make it so that my Apple Watch don't vibrate for the wake up alarm? Or even ignore the alarm whatsoever - I want to be waken up simply by the iPhone alarm sound.

My setup:

  • I have the sleep schedule on the watch paired with iPhone so that the watch display doesn't lighten up in the dark, etc.
  • I want to keep the watch on to track sleep.
  • I want to keep vibration on the watch in principle, for other things, i.e. an alert when an outdoor walk is detected.

But waking up to the vibration on my wrist is so nerve-racking!

I went through all the settings but couldn't make it work. I found a discussion from 2012 that led nowhere - is it possible to do something 10 years later?

Apple Watch Series 7, watchOS 9

Expected behavior? :( How is it possible that the watch don’t have an option to turn off vibration for an alarm, or the alarm? My oldest phone could do that - set the ringtone, the volume and whether you want the vibration.

On the iphone, you cannot even set the volume for an alarm (only the general volume which either makes the alarm too loud or the ringtone when someone is calling you hard to hear). Not to mention the selection of alarm sounds - sounds like the worst midi from 1998 😄 You have to go to Health app and set a schedule there, and thankfully there are decent options for the melody. But then you have no control over the watch.

And then there is a third app, Sleep, that also has some settings - I don’t know who designed this but having such trivial thing as an alarm across three apps and not configurable sounds very far from a company known for great design and simplicity.
