Markup on iPad is not working,

I have noticed that I can not edit my photos or screenshots with “markup”. I used to do this all the time. I can no longer edit photos/screenshots for the last few weeks maybe longer. Yes I have tried with both the apple pen and another pen along with my finger. I have rebooted my iPad a few times and it is up to date with updates.

I have read another users same issue but they realized it was about there apple pen.

Any other people having same issue?

thanks

Hey there, Goldiloxs88,

Thanks so much for using Apple Support Communities. We want to help you figure out why Markup wouldn't be working for you as anticipated.

Have you tried unpairing your Apple Pencil and testing Markup while that accessory is not actively paired with your iPad? This would be one way to isolate the issue, to see if perhaps an issue with the Apple Pencil or a setting somewhere is tripping this up. You can unpair your Apple Pencil in Settings > Bluetooth by tapping the "i" next to your Apple Pencil and choosing "Forget this Device".

If the issue continues to occur, you may want to try cleaning your iPad screen. If there is any debris or dirt on the display, it's possible that it could be interfering with touch and Apple Pencil input. Be sure to test without a screen protector as well to isolate the issue as much as possible.

We hope this does the trick for you!

Cheers.
