iOS 16 update: receiving calendar invites from deactivated calendars

Dear community,

Since udpating to iOS 16, I'm receiving calendar invites to my calendar inbox from calendars that I have speficially signed off in the calendar app. This is an issue as I've synched my work GMAIL calendar which has the accounts from all employees listed. So, I'm receiving their invitations all the time now.

This wasn't the case before the update and I've not changed any settings.

I looked through the settings, but couldn't find anything. Has anyone an idea how to solve this?

Hey there iphone_user_rch1,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. So we understand the issue correctly, are you only having this issue with calendars synced from your Google account, or does this issue occur with calendars synced from iCloud as well?

If this is only occurring with your calendar synced with your Google account, have you gone through the steps here to turn off notifications for those calendars: Modify Google Calendar notifications - iPhone & iPad

Turn off notifications
To turn off all notifications for Google Calendar, you can change your calendar’s default settings. Because notifications sync between your mobile device and your computer, you can change your settings from either the app or a computer.
1. Open the Google Calendar app .
2. In the top left, tap Menu .
3. At the bottom, tap Settings .
4. Select a calendar.
5. Tap a notification and choose None. Repeat for each notification.

If you have multiple accounts or calendars, repeat these steps.

If still having issues after going through the steps above, you may need to reach out to Google's support who may be able to provide some additional information or troubleshooting steps. Check out this link for help with reaching out: Google Calendar Help

Take care!

Dear Chris,

thanks for replying to my request. This does not solve my issue, but I probably didn’t explain properly.

what I’m talking about are email invitations that are automatically displayed in the calendar. I would like to not have them shown for certain calendars but shown for others. Thus far, it worked the way I intended: only the calendars that I displayed in the iOS calendar app also included the mail invitations. Now these show up for all associated calendars, which are from my coworkers as well. Is there an option to turn this off?

iphone_user_rch1,

The issue you're describing sounds like it's happening at the server level. So you'd want to log into your email on the web to see if there are any settings to adjust this. Additionally if your company has an IT department you can reach out to them for assistance as well. If things persist we'd recommend reaching out for support directly here: Get Support

Take care.
