Mac Mail flags issue For over a year I have had an irritating problem with mail flags on my lasptop. I occasionally used flags of different colours to keep track of certain messages across mailboxes. the problem, is that when I unflag a message, although the flag disappears the 'counter' next to the flags label in the left column does not update. In the screenshot below, although there are no flagged messages anywhere in my system the flag still shows 4! This has persisted across multiple software updates including to Ventura. It doesn't affect my use, it just offends me :-) I have used the rebuild mailboxes option with no effect. Any body got a solution. I'm a veteran Mac user of 34 years

How to customize preview pane headers in Mac Mail I just upgraded my MacBook Air to Monterey v. 12. In the conversion, some of the headers in the preview pane in Mac Mail disappeared, e.g. Date Sent and Flag. I show From, Date, Date Received and Mailbox, but that's it. How do I get the other column headers to appear?

I’ve managed it. Hold ctrl and click in the top right corner of the column display window. A short drop-down menu appears, including Flags. Click on it and a new column appears on the left to display flags.

Control-click on the header of any of the columns, and check the box for "Flags":
