Does anyone know how to fix problem with lightning to HDMI, video only no audio, with ios16.1.1?

Then please give suggestion. I use the lightning to HDMI adapter to watch Amazon Prime shows and my local NPR station. Upgraded in morning and didn't work that evening. Did all the standard moves of disconnecting and turning devices on and off and swapping out lightning/HDMI adapter.

I’m having the exact same issues as you. I have an iPhone X, did the upgrade, and when I went to use it, there was no audio. The presentation was sticky and slow…’never had an issue prior. Let me know if you find out what can be done.
BTW, I beg to differ…it IS the upgrade.

Glad you affirmed same experience. Denial of a problem really doesn't really help. Did see there are numerous other threads on same topic. Would be nice if Apple would monitor this forum closer. From my past life as a software developer I'm guessing they cut the budget on testing as this problem has surfaced with past updates.
I tested this out with an iPhone XR. First I tested the HDMI adapter for functionality with the prior version. All that's required is to click "Trust", immediately the adapter starts to display a live mirror feed to the TV. Opening apps, streaming, gaming, etc. all function properly until after the update. There is no prompt to "Trust" the device no video or sound. The TV recognizes the HDMI adapter, the iPhone does not attempt to display through the adapter automatically the way it did before. I used this before the update as my display connection for my phone. You can do a lot of things with the iPhone, it can be used this way in conjunction with a game controller to turn it into a Nintendo Switch but more compact and travel friendly. It can be used in conjunction with a mouse and keyboard and any display with an HDMI port. This all functioned fine prior to the update, the only portion that seems to be impacted is the display to HDMI adapter.
This is surely not due to iOS 16.1.1 update.
I'll back out of part of my reply. See explanation from g00g01p1ex. It's still a problem with testing for backward compatibility and where that responsibility lies.
In the mean time, what can be accomplished to remedy this situation?
