How to print different file folder labels on one sheet at once

I used to buy Avery labels, download that label # for the correct template, type and print! Easy as that! Now I can't figure out how to print a full sheet of file folder labels (each label with different text) using any template. Avery makes you go to their online printing option and type one label at a time, click this, click that, multiple times. Its arduous and ridiculous. What is going on? Why can't I just download a template on word, type what I want and print WHAT IS SHOWN ON THE PAGE? Please help! Life is becoming more and more complicated.

Templates assume repetition of some sort that is reproducible. For a template to use different pieces, you are better off using a layout program. Word is not a layout program. Adobe InDesign is a layout program.

You are better off testing on a blank sheet of paper ensuring the layout is what you want, and then verify it lines up with the template label paper next. If you need different sizes, get one standard size sheet of paper label sheet which you can then cut to size with a paper cutter.

You can still download Word label templates from Avery, and Word itself has a lot of Avery templates already built into it.

Word > Mailings > Labels > Label Options > Label Products (choose the vendor) > Product Number (choose the product number for the label sheets you have). Ignore the "Number of Labels" selection and don't type anything in the Delivery Address box. After selecting your product number, just click OK and you will get a sheet of formatted, blank labels where you can type whatever you want for each label, format as desired, etc. and then print them. I do this all the time for file folder labels.
