NOTES app changes font when using tab

I have a 2021 iPad Pro 12.9. When I use the Notes app, if I use the TAB key on the Magic Keyboard (5th Gen) the font changes to Times Roman (it doesn’t say Times Roman, I just recognize the font). Why is it doing this and how do I fix it (which I shouldn’t have to do)? Apple Tech Support had no answers. I’m NOT copying and pasting. I’m just typing.

Hey there OPUS Digital Audio,

Do you recall installing any fonts on your iPad? You can check and manage them by following these steps:

1. After you download an app containing fonts from the App Store, open the app to install the fonts.
2. To manage installed fonts, go to Settings  > General, then tap Fonts.

If no other fonts are installed, it's possible the default style has been set up in settings on your iPad. To check:

To choose a default style for the first line in all new notes, go to Settings  > Notes > New Notes Start With.

Continue with the steps under creating a formatting notes here:

Take care!
