External Display for Ipad Pro

When using my new ipad pro M2, I am trying to connect my studio display to run extra screen space. When connected, it defaults to a mirror screen of whats on the ipad display. Ive seen pictures and videos of consumers using the external display as an extra monitor, and being able to drag opened windows across into the extended screen space. Am i mistaking? Or doing something wrong?

Pictures and video that you may have seen will be from early beta-versions of iPadOS16 - and not the current production version of released software.

Basic screen mirroring should be available to an external TV or connected monitor with iPadOS 16.1. However, Stage Manager support for external monitors is not yet available - this feature being planned for release later this year.

Be patient. It’s coming 🙂
