iCloud synch to PC is very slow

Synching photos to a Windows 11 machine via iCloud for windows (14.0) is very slow, particularly downloading original images to the Windows machine's drive (using the "Always keep on device" option). For example, a library with 12,000 photos had only 150 originals synched within >24 hours of running non-stop, with The iCloud process constantly consuming ~8% of CPU (one core entirely?). So it looks like a bug in the client. Restarts, reinstalls, etc. did not change the behavior. Trying on a different machine (also Windows 11) resulted in the same issue.

Windows, Windows 6

It has been on for several days now on two different computers, syncing at pace of ~80 files per day. This is not a local computer or network issue. The response is completely not helpful - if you are bothering to repond, at least please take a second to read the issue report fully.

Hey MaxLtv,

If your PC is a laptop, ensure it remains plugged into power and maintains a connection to Wi-Fi. We'd also recommend adjusting the sleep settings to ensure the computer does not go to sleep.

Leave it overnight, and monitor if there is progress in the morning. If there is progress, albeit slow, we'd advise leaving the computer in that state until the sync is completed. The speed of the sync will vary and is highly dependent on the data you're syncing.
