Bought an iMac with AppleCare which expires 2025. Can I get ownership without the previous owners name etc?

Can I extend an Apple Care + which I didn't pay for and is attached to my mac? I bought it from a third party Hello guys. Is there a way for me to extend an apple care + (already paid in full till 2025) even if I was not the one who originally purchased it? Apple says yes it's possible but it must be transferred to the new owner, problem is the third party shop has no way to trace the previous owner of the device to ask to do this transfer. I wonder if with my apple ID I can do it without going into this process. I know I can have it repaired with the current warranty but when it comes to renewing the subscription, apple seems like it needs to be done using the original apple ID (I believe) or the name of the original owner. I don't see the logic, you can have it repaired for free with the apple warranty which is now yours, but you can't renew it because it's originally not yours. Really appreciate if you can help.

Transfer applecare to another user I sold my computer. How do I transfer the apple care coverage to the new owner?

As I can tell the sell her has to transfer it to you, so you may wish to start there

AppleCare is associated with the computer and NOT the buyer, therefore if you are buying a used iMac that has remaining AppleCare coverage the Mac's AppleCare coverage will be covered for the period remaining.
