My computer is old and will no longer accept updates what is my solution?

My computer is mid 2011 and won't update beyond High Sierra, what is my solution?


iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.13

I think you already know the answer. If you want to run current and future operating systems on your Mac......you will need a new Mac.


10 years is considered a long life for a computer, your iMac has served you well. But, it's time.

the problem is that I've used it to create a lot of things and in order to use those files I need to some software that works just fine on this machine but also will be gone if I shut it down. And the replacement software in graphics and video production will cost more than the cost of a new machine and from experience I've found that often they can't read the old files.


It won't let me update my new phone. That's my main problem.


I have a 2022 iPad but it has it's limitations as well.


There are a lot of people like me who have thousands of dollars invested in technology that still works fine but the replacement is really expensive and doesn't necessarily work with what you've already done.
