MBA M2 static/white noise on audio input recorded through the microphone of cabled headphones

As said in the title, on my M2 MBA, when I use my headphones plugged through the built in MacBook jack port, the audio that the headphones' microphone records gets some sort of static/white noise on it.

I verified this with all my cabled headphones: two pairs of AKG and a brand new pair of Apple EarPods with 3.5mm plug.

This problem does not affect the audio recorded through the MBA's internal mic when set as input, nor through the AirPods' mic. On the other hand, the headphones do not record the noise when plugged in other devices different, e.g., to an iPad.

Of course, during calls, the noise is certainly audible by the interlocutor (and this is also how I found it out).
