Run a Homekit automation when two people leave

I want to run a HomeKit automation when my two kids leave the house. Specifically, I want to turn off the bathroom lights when they leave for school in the morning.

it seems like the “when a person leaves” is an OR parameter (when PersonA OR PersonB leaves) and I need an AND parameter (when PersonA AND PersonB leave)

Any suggestions?

Hi ResortCasual,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today.

Do you see an automation for When The Last Person Leaves Home?

Have a look at this page of the user guide for information on automations: Automate scenes and accessories in Home on Mac.

"Create an automation for when a person leaves

  1. In the Home app  on your Mac, choose File > Add Automation.
  2. Click People Leave, choose when you want the automation to occur, then click Next.
  3. Choose one or more scenes and accessories, then click Next.
  4. Review your choices.
  5. If accessories were turned on by the automation, you can set how long they stay on before they turn off.
  6. Click Done."

If this isn't working for you, we'd suggest a deeper dive with Apple Support.

Have a fantastic day!
