How to stop emails from being deleted from sent folder when I delete the CC copy in the Inbox

Hi,

I have the following issue on my iPhone - using the iPhone mail app ...

When I send an email I have mail set so that I will receive a CC copy - usually just to act as an sys-catcher confirmation visible in my inbox that the email has been sent. I will then usually delete the CC copy in the inbox. After deleting the copy in the inbox, the copy in the sent folder would still be present. Recently, this appears to have changed. Now I find that when I delete the copy from my inbox, then the copy in the sent folder is also deleted. This is a problem as I only want to delete the copy of the message in the inbox and not the copy in the sent folder.

I would be grateful for advice on how to stop this from happening. (iPhone running IOS 16.0 )

Kind regards.

Hello djc101,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

We understand that you don’t want the email in your Sent Folder to be deleted only the email that you copied yourself on in your inbox. We are happy to help.
