Links not switching to browser desktop

Hi,

I have several desktops. To make it easier on myself I run different apps in different desktops i.e. 2-3 apps per desktop. I've noticed recently that when I clink on a link in non-browser app like mail, slack, whatsapp etc, the link opens in my default browser, but it does not switch to the desktop where the browser window is. Everytime I open a link, I have to go/switch to browser desktop to see the link. If I have a browser desktop in the same desktop as the non-browser app, I can see it opening the link. It started happening only recently (possibly after upgrading to MacOS ventura; 13.0.1 but not 100% sure). This used to work before. I have an older mac (which I haven't upgraded yet) where it still works. Is there a setting that controls this behavior?

Thanks for any help as this is very annoying.

Well, if this "recently" is macOS Ventura related then I would —

file a bug report /submit your Apple Feedback here: Product Feedback - Apple

and hope for a point update to follow the new Ventura macOS 13.0.1 to resolve your issue.

Many changes to the new OS including the introduction of Stage Manager:
