Apple TV youtube ads

I've recently upgraded from an Apple TV HD where YouTube app ads were tolerable to a new 2022 4K model where YouTube app ads are annoyingly high - 2 ads per 2/3 mins.

Same YouTube account signed into the app. I haven't changed any settings on my YouTube account. Has anyone else noticed this or can recommend any Apple TV settings/YouTube account settings to adjust? I wont be subscribing the YouTube premium just to skip ads.

The number of ads may have increased around that time, regardless of model device. Apple TV HD (2015) vs. Apple TV 4K (2022) have the same YouTube app, and would have the same number of ads per same monetization scheme type of video. It depends on the uploader, and their settings for the new video. Also, YouTube constantly changes their methods and options for ads for revenue optimization.
