I get a message to connect my watch when I try to add a new watch face. However, it is connected. I’ve unpaired it and reconnected. Checked all my settings. Still unable to download a new face, because it gives me a ❌
How can I fix this ?

If you go to the Watch app on your paired iPhone can you add a watch face from the Face Gallery?
If you swipe up on the watch face and the green phone icon is not there then indeed your phone and watch are not connected.
