I want to donate an old external drive. It has 3 partitions that I erased and re-named Partition 1, 2 and 3. I want to combine the 3 partitions into one more useful large volume. Disk Utility does not seem to be able to do this. Is there a way?

Thanks, that did it. I had erased each partition, but was not seeing the device, so I changed the View to show it. Then I was not seeing Format in the Menu so I used Erase and that got rid of the partitions.
Select the drive at its device level and format it.
Does it matter that 2 of the 3 partitions were erased with 3 passes?
