Scrolling bug

Very annoying bug in Apple Music app;

very often, randomly, after selecting a certain song or not even touching anything, the page will leap either to the very bottom of my library or, more often, a couple (e.g. 25-50) songs forward. So basically it is as if I would scroll down a bit myself, it is really annoying. I haven't really noticed a pattern at which this bug happens but it always happens after renaming a file among other instances. Also, I am using only the touchpad and this scroll bug only appears to me in Apple Music app. I've read that this issues has been addressed many times already but there was no helpful answer. I also want to add that I don't have that problem on iTunes on my Windows PC.

Hi beatwerx,

From what you described in your original post, it would be a good idea to check to see if the issue persists in safe mode.

How to use safe mode on your Mac

Determine whether you're using a Mac with Apple silicon, then follow the appropriate steps:

Apple silicon

1) Shut down your Mac.

2) Turn on your Mac and continue to press and hold the power button until you see the startup options window.

3) Select your startup disk, then press and hold the Shift key while clicking “Continue in Safe Mode.”

4) Log in to your Mac. You might be asked to log in again.

Intel processor

1) Turn on or restart your Mac, then immediately press and hold the Shift key as your Mac starts up.

2) Release the key when you see the login window, then log in to your Mac.

3) You might be asked to log in again. On either the first or second login window, you should see ”Safe Boot” in the upper-right corner of the window.

Performing this step above may help resolve the issue or allow us to isolate the problem further.

If you're still experiencing the same issue, then try testing in a new user to see if you're still noticing the same problem there: Change Users & Groups settings on Mac
