Aux cable will not work with iPhone SE in 2011 Honda Pilot

My vehicle does not have Bluetooth therefore I need to use the aux cord in my 2011 Honda Pilot. It will not work with my Apple iPhone SE but it does does work just fine with my friend's iPhone 12. Therefore, I know it is not the cable nor port. Is there anyone out there who can help with this? Thank you

iPhone SE (Gen 3)

Hi there rockhunter49,

If a cable isn't working with your iPhone, you'll want to start by making sure it's an Apple-certified cable. Learn how to check here: Identify counterfeit or uncertified Lightning connector accessories - Apple Support

Also, try working through these steps to see if they resolve the issue for you:

Connect using USB playback
1. Restart your device and your car.
2. Make sure that your device is unlocked and on the Home screen.
3. If possible, try to connect using another cable or USB port. Check the manual that came with your car to learn how to connect an Apple device.
4. Check your charging port for any debris or damage. Make sure that your charging cable is properly inserted into the port.
5. Update your device.
6. Make sure that your stereo is using the latest firmware from the car manufacturer. Check your car's manual for more information.
7. Try playing audio from a different app. If you can't play audio from a third-party app, contact the app developer for help. If you can't play audio from an Apple app, contact Apple Support.

Take care.
