My laptop (Macbook Air M1 2020) screen got broken for no reason

My laptop (Mackbook Air M1 2020) screen got broken for no reason. I just closed the laptop and reopened with a broken screen at the place where 'J' key is placed parallely on keyboard. I checked there was nothing in b/w screen and keyboard. They call it "accidental damage". I already paid 22k Rs. for apple-plus care while buying but now they are again asking for 8,900 Rs. for screen replacement as "Service Fee". I feel Looted. Please help me how can I escalate this issue.
