Mac Studio M1 Max temperature

I guess everyone who owns the Mac Studio M1 would like to see how hot or temperature should reach. To me, I own a Mac Studio M1 Max quite recently. the temperature goes up when it is on idle, say, when I got up in the morning, I put my hand on this aluminium case, I felt hot, not really, hot enough to draw my attention. But as soon as I started to use it, the temperature came down. My guess is when the Mac is not running the heat is accumulated because the fan I assume stops. As soon as the Mac starts running, the fan starts to ventilate the heat. Not sure my answer to myself is right or not. Any insight? Thanks in advance.

You might try Stats, an app that monitors/displays temperatures (and other information) to see what your temperatures are when you have concern.

Stats resides in the menu bar, is free, open-source, and available here.

Although I don't recall having touched my Studio in the morning, whenever I've done so during the day it has been quite cool to the touch.

Well, I also have a Mac Studio Mac Max with 2TB storage and 32GB memory. It stays very cool to the touch no matter what time of the day, no matter what is going on, idle, working. It NEVER heats up. I have a little app called Mac Fan Control and the free version allows you to monitor the fan speed. My Mac Studio’s fan is always on and always near the minimum speed. I’m thinking something isn’t right if your Mac Studio is heating up for no reason.
