Apple Notes showing as attachment instead of handwritten

Apple Support Community,

I've noticed something peculiar and I don't know if anyone else has had this issue but my handwritten notes from my iPad do sync across devices but only on my MacBook, it will turn into an attachment. Both on my iPhone and my iPad, it shows as an handwritten note. Anyone else have this issue or have a fix?

Issue: handwritten notes showing on Macbook Pro as Attachment I use the Notes app on my iPad to take handwritten notes. I want to view these notes in the Notes app on my Macbook Pro. The first note i wrote, when I open the note on the Macbook it is displayed normally as a note (the size changes with the window size). However, this only worked for the first note, all further notes are now always converted to images and inserted as an attachment into note and displayed as an inserted image on the Macbook instead of a handwritten note. The result is that it becomes very small and sometimes unreadable, the size or format cannot be changed. I have not changed any settings, it just happened. I have found two forums where someone had mentioned the same issue but there were no solutions. Does anyone have a solution for this problem? Apple Notes Exporting Upside Down and Mirrored Hello, I'm having trouble exporting my apple notes to PDF. I handwrite notes on my iPad and transfer them via iCloud to my MacBook where I then save them in PDF format. For the last couple of months the notes are exporting upside down and mirrored. I also, I used to highlight and double click the note to pull it up in preview and I am no longer able to highlight notes. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you,

Handwritten Notes Keep Disappearing Since the last couple of days, every note that I´ve created using my Apple Pencil (handwritten notes) keep disappearing turning every note blank. Today I tried making a new note but choosing the folder "on my iPad" so it´s not stored on iCloud but on the iPad itself but after writing a few pages, I switched apps to check my email, and when I came back to the notes app, the last 20 lines that I wrote disappeared! I have an 7th generation iPad OS is updated (17.0.3) iCloud is sync with notes on all my devices Setting on email - notes is also synced. I've already checked other comments regarding the same issue but no solutions, so I was wondering if there's anything else I might do to either recover my old notes or prevent something like this happening in the future. Thanks.

Hello tylerfromfairfax,

You should be able to preview or open the attachments using the steps below:

• Preview an attachment: Select the attachment and press the Space bar.

• Open an attachment in its default app: Double-click the attachment.

You can also find those steps in this resource: View your notes on Mac - Apple Support

If you aren't able to open those attachments, do you get an error or prompt when you attempt to do so?
