Hard to connect to iPhone12 hotspot

I find the hotspot on the iPhone12 pretty useless. Everytime I want to connect to it I need to turn hotspot off and on several times before it starts to transmit and I can connect. On top of that. When the connection has been idle for a while it disconnects and I have to repeat the repeated off/on process several times to get the iPhone12 hotspot to transmit again.

It doesn't help to turn on maximum compatibility, connect the phone to power or any other tips I've found so far. The only thing that helps is keep turning the hotspot off and back on until it finally starts to transmit.

The problem is the same no matter which of my other devices (Samsung phone, Lenovo laptops, Cisco WIFI bridge, Ipad etc.) I try to connect to the hotspot.

I never had this issue when I uses my Samsung phone as hotspot. I kind of wish I bourght a new Samsung Phone instead of wasting money on the iPhone.

Anyone who have an idea how to fix this ANNOYING issue?

It's not a carrier issue. It's a Apple device issue. When I move the SIM card to my old Samsung phone and turn on the hotspot, it starts transmitting immediately and it doesn't stop just because it's idle for a while.

I forgot to write that I have no problem with the mobil data on the iPhone it self. When I turn on mobil data it works within seconds. It's only connecting to the WIFI hotspot on the iPhone that is annoyingly problematic.

I have no trouble connecting to the hotspot. You need to troubleshoot the problem with your phone, rather than assume it is a general problem for all iPhones that can be fixed by Apple from afar. Start with Reset Network Settings.

However, you should always buy the product that best meets your needs. No one here among the user-to-user forum members cares how you spend your money. And I’m sure that Samsung phones are absolutely perfect, and if you buy one you will never have need to post in a Samsung support forum.

I have already tried all the tricks with resetting network etc. Some tips helps for a day, but then the problem is back. By posting here I hoped to get some useful answers. Not just the basic standards replies.

Please don't insult me. No one chooses a phone based on problems with hotspot you use occasionally. It's a standard functionality you expect to work and it's **** annoying when your internet is down and it takes you 30 min. to get the **** hotspot to work.

Given the number of people complaining about apple hotspots, it seems to be a general problem. Good for you that you don't seem to have the issue. But it doesn't really help us who has.

Earlier today I tried using Bluetooth instead of WIFI for connecting to the hotspot on my iPhone. It worked instantly after I turned on the hotspot on my iPhone, but WIFI still didn't work and I had to switching the hotspot off and on several times before the WIFI SSID was transmitted. Each time the Bluetooth hotspot worked instantly, but it's much slower than the WIFI hotspot, so it's not an very good alternative.

I therefore conclude it's an Apple iPhone issue and NOT a Carrier issue.

The Hotspot is a Carrier Specific feature. Contact your Carrier (Cellular Service Provider), the agency that issued the SIM / eSIM to you.
