After Ventura, Time machine tries to back up to existing Time Machine drives (one is a Time Capsule the other an external Seagate 5TB). In both cases time machine lists those drives (as it has in the past). I select either, both produce the same result. Time Machine starts then reports there are no disks available to use. It scans these disks, but then stops. Disk Utility reports both are fine.
True - but it has already been installed - the correct answer (from Apple Support, senior level). Delete any "exclude from ... " under options in TM. That enabled TM machine to see the external disk = it is now doing a full backup ..
I know but before got to the senior supervisor, an entry level individual said could try that (I have multiple clones and use Backblaze as well so wastn't worried about loosing anything). And, it's only one of my TM units.
If you have not yet updated to OS 13.0.1 for Ventura released on Nov 9, that might be worth a try.
Should not be doing a full backup. Should be doing an incremental backup.
So, you erased the back up disk before you ran the new backup?
