When I try to edit text in a text box in Preview, it flips the text upside down.

I have a weird problem. I have an M1 MacBook Air running Ventura 13.0.1

When I add a text box annotation in the Preview app in a PDF. It adds the text box OK, but as soon as you start editing the text it flips upside down and turns the text bold. And as soon as you're done editing the, it flips back upright and removes the bold.

I can use two finger to rotate the box upside down, but as soon as I try to edit the text, it flips right side up and changes the text to bold. And when I'm done editing it flips upside down again and removes the bold.

That is weird...

I use text annotations a lot in Preview and this would have made me crazy... but I have not experienced it.

Are you talking about the "Text" or "Note" annotations? Or both?

Did you try with different PDF files? Does it happen with all of them?

Try restarting in Safe Mode and doing an annotation? Same problem or not? If the problem does not occur in Safe Mode, does it recur after you restart normally?
