Adding to favorites list in messages

If you would like to see conversations listed at the top of the Messages app, you'll follow Use Messages on your iPhone or iPad  to pin them.

"Pin important conversations

1. In Messages, tap Edit or the More button .
2. Tap Edit Pins , then tap the Pin button .
3. Tap Done.

You can also touch and hold a conversation to pin it. In iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 and later, you can pin up to nine conversations."

If you are instead referring to favorite contacts, you'll follow Use Contacts from the Phone app on iPhone

"Add a Favorite

You can add VIP contacts to your Favorites list for quick dialing.

Select a contact, scroll down, then tap Add to Favorites.

Calls from these contacts bypass Do Not Disturb (see Turn on or schedule a Focus on iPhone)."
