photo captions do not show on all devices?
Why do the captions I've added to photos on my iPhone not show up on my other devices even though it's all connected with an iCloud account?
Why do the captions I've added to photos on my iPhone not show up on my other devices even though it's all connected with an iCloud account?
Very few captions show up on my iMac nor my iPad even though they are connected to the same iCloud account. So frustrating they didn't show up everywhere after I painstakingly added "captions" to all my photos on my iPhone. I did so by clinking on the "i" button, then typed in where it says "Add a Caption". Why didn't this work on all my devices when I view my photos!?
BTW, how does one add or see a Title?
How are you transferring the photos from the iPhone to your Mac and your iPad?
The captions will only be transferred by iCloud Photos, not by My Photo Stream or by a manual syncing.
The captions you are adding on an iPhone or iPad should be visible in Photos for Mac, after they have been synced to your Mac with iCloud Photos, when you open the Info for a photo with ⌘i . On your Mac you you will be seeing the titles below the thumbnails of your photos, but not the captions (How to view the titles or filenames below… - Apple Community). Your iPhone and iPad cannot show the titles at all, only the captions. But you can search for the titles on the iPhone.
Which other devices, where on those devices, and in what context?
On a Mac, for instance, the Caption will show up in the Info window for a photo below the camera information. This is distinct from the Title, which shows up above the camera information in the Info window and also under the photo if display of Title metadata is enabled. Both can be printed with photos in Contact Sheet format printing.
