Can’t add any accessory to Home app after updating to iOS 16

My iPhone is currently running iOS 16.1 and I’m having problems while trying to pair any accessory to the Home app.

A week ago (I was running iOS 16), I run into a problem with my LG TV (it was turning on without reason) and had to remove my entire home from the Home app and recreate it (and of course repair every accessory I own). I then proceed to try pair my accessories, only to find that they are not being discovered by my iPhone. However my father’s iPhone (running iOS 15.6) was able to pair the accessories to his home app.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? I have tried reseting the accessories back to factory defaults, restart my whole network (router, switches, Apple TV, computers, etc.) and even shut the entire home power down (just to be sure). Nothing seems to work.

Thank you for your time.

Hello Sakkas,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

You have done some great troubleshooting steps so far.

This may be helpful:

If you can't add an accessory
Update your iPhone or iPad to the latest version of iOS or iPadOS.
Make sure that your accessories support HomeKit, AirPlay 2, or Matter.
To use and manage your home in the Home app on all of your devices, sign in to iCloud with your Apple ID on every device. Then turn on iCloud Keychain and Home in iCloud Settings.

More details can be found here: Add an accessory to the Home app

If the issue persists, it may be best to reach out to Apple directly.

You can contact them by going to Get Support.

Cheers!
